Last night, Fransico Liriano pitched a no-hitter against the White Sox!  It wasn't perfect by any means since he still walked 6 batters.  I heard on ESPN radio this morning that part of the reason he was so effective last night was because he was wild and unpredictable.  Liriano came into the game with a horrible 9.13 ERA which is the second worst ERA of a pitcher who threw a no-hitter.

Another piece of good news is that the win helped to propel the Twins out of the cellar.  They no longer own the title of the worst team in baseball.  The White Sox now hold that honor by a hair.  Twins have a .357 winning percentage and the Sox are at .355.

Maybe this can be a rallying point for a team that is definitely not living up to expectations.

It's been a really wierd year in all of baseball.  But the season is a long way from over.  Still too many men left on base again last night, and we need somebody else to start hitting over .200.  But still a very good game by Frankie. thumbsup thumbsup
