Carl Pavano singed a 2 year deal to stay in Minnesota.  Hopefully he still has a couple good seasons left in him.  I definitely think this was a good thing to keep him in Minnesota.  Not the greatest pitcher in the league, but he has proven to be a steady and reliable part of the rotation.

He can eat up innings...looks like one of last years starters will be in the bullpen this year.

Thats was great move by the Twins. Pavano is definitely worth keeping around.

Almost makes up for being so stupid with Caps. Caps is mediocre at best, far from being worth the millions they gave him. If he wanted that kind of cash, they should have dumped him.

I think the Capps deal was protection in case Nathan doesn't make it with his comeback.
If Nathan is ok, we will deal Capps later in the year.  Not that bad of an insurance policy.

Caps is over rated and over paid. Keep Pavano, and hope Nathan comes back. Get rid of Caps and get someone worth their pay.

Any yeah we won't be able to dump Caps with that salary.

Very true...and no one will absorb that for the way he's been playing....Twins need him to be just on fire, then dump him cause it will eventually smolder out

Maybe it's just my opinion, but some clubs closer or set up man will go down by the trading deadline and if Nathan is doing ok and Capps is just the 8th inning guy, we can trade for whatever we might need at the time.....somebody will be willing to pay.  They always do.
