I have mixed emotions about this one....he was a class act and came through many times for the Twins while he was here.  But with his back and not being able to take the field, he limited Gardy's options.
Good luck to him getting his ring.

I don't follow the sport much. I do know Mauer is always hurt. What does he play like one game a month? It's ridiculous how often he sits, I swear if he breaks a nail he's sitting for a week.

Thome sounded like a great guy. Sounds like he needed to go though. Who did they get for the trade?

All they did was rent him for the rest of the season. He will be a free agent at the end of the year, and can come back just as easy as he left. He wants that ring and this is the best chance offer he got, so he jumped. Its only for 45 days. He will be back if he wants to.

I am a huge Thome fan. Great guy who did a ton to help the Twins. With his back issues, I'd bet he is done after this season.
