Kevin Love scored 25 points and grabbed 18 rebounds and Luke Ridnour added 22 points to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves over the Houston Rockets 100-91 on Saturday night.

Minnesota won for the fifth time in seven games to reach .500 (12-12).

Kyle Lowry had 24 points and 11 assists for Houston and Luis Scola also had 24 points, but Kevin Martin scored a season-low two points on 1-for-10 shooting.

It was only the second time this season Martin, who entered the game averaging 20.7 points, didn't score in double figures. It was his fewest point total since March of 2007, when he scored one point for Sacramento against Phoenix.

Even so, the Rockets pulled within three with five minutes to play. But Minnesota scored 10 of the next 14 points and led 98-89 when Ricky Rubio drove for a layup with 2:26 to effectively put the game out of reach.

Rubio had 13 points and 11 assists for Minnesota.

Things got ugly in the third quarter after Love hacked Scola to the ground as he tried to drive the lane. Replays showed Love stepped on Scola's face, knocking his head against the court, as he turned to head back up court.

The Rockets bench complained loudly and was hit with a technical foul on the next possession, and Scola was also assessed a technical about a minute later.

Houston kept its composure well enough to close the quarter on an 8-4 run to pull within nine to start the fourth.
First time this late in the season since 2005-2006 season.

I wish all games were televised, I have really enjoyed watching them this year and it's the first time in three years or so. I think I've seen almost every game that's been on TV. Awesome that they are at .500, maybe they can get over that hump and really turn it up a notch or two. They are something this year for sure and should be for a few years to come.

At .500 again...nice win against a quality team on Sunday.  It  would be nice if Wes Johnson could score somehow.  Webster looks ok for a bench player.  Adelmann has shortened his bench quite a bit, but does seem to know when to substitute.  He makes Rambis look like Tim Brewster coaching wise.  Tough haul coming up, but if they keep on playing like they are, they could surprise many.  Only one win short of last years record already.

It was a great game last night that came down to he wire. I'm hoping they can get a few games over 500 to give some cushion but it's a hard road coming up.

I think I heard on the radio this morning that the next win by the Wolves will already equal their total of wins for all of last season.

Yup...and it should have been last night.  Dumb, dumb, dumb.  Both teams stunk and the refs were worse then the players.  Bad calls or missed calls against both teams.

Martel Webster, what a tool. Gets the ball and goes for an easy dunk instead of taking a three to tie it.

And now they are over .500, more wins then all of last year and 1/2 game out of the playoff picture.
They just could make the playoffs this year.  And Adelmann seems to be pushing the right buttons.  When the bench is producing, he leaves them in.

most points off the bench then any other team so far this year. 72 or so points?

the clippers had like 11 or so?

with kobe out tonight hopefully with a concussion, they should have another close game or a big win.

Exciting game last night...hopefully they can keep it up.  K-Love is a monster.  They really frustrated Blake Griffin.
This is the 1st time they have been over .500 in March since the 2006-2007 season. thumbsup

I missed the game but heard about it today. Sounded like a great one and K-Love is great to have on the team.

5th straight home win in a row.  Tied for last position in playoff hunt.  Good game tonite.  They are beginning to frustrate teams that think they should be beating them.  wav

Tied yes but they own the tie breaker so if the playoffs started now they would be in!! What a great team to watch this year, I forgot how fun it is when we have a winning team.

Interesting fan post I saw on the T'Wolves site:

(Last night's) win makes the T'Wolves 9-2 vs. Portland, Houston, Dallas & San Antonio this year. Over the previous four seasons, the T'Wolves were a combined 2-57 versus those teams.

It's insane how they have a very good winning record over some great teams. Hope they keep it up. I knew KL was decent but he is a BEAST this year!!
