As another deer seemingly is going out with what seems to be lower deer harvest numbers. Maybe it is more guys willing to shot bucks only. I for one will shot a doe if possible, A. I feel it may change up the gene pool a bit. B. I really feel the deer meat of the does has a better taste.  Would i shoot a buck sure if it the first one to come along. I do sit in areas where buck scrapes are on each side. Sometimes I can over see two or scrapes. After not getting a deer for two years due to the wolves in the area normally have hunted. this year decided to hunt close to home.

As for My Taxidermy I have some very nice bucks coming in.  This year I am offering price of $325.00for shoulder mounts.  also doing more nose areas

In my area, you can't be real selective, now where my relatives hunt, my nephew passed on over 20 deer already waiting for the big one.  He can be a little more selective and will take whatever he can later on in the season.  To each there own, I guess.
I have heard many stories of hunters that have this choice and envy them.  However, where I hunt, is mostly mine or other relatives lands and it is where I have my camper parked.  So this is why I chose to hunt this area.  Plus, it is more, in my case, the hunt and getting together with my family, then it is ending up with a deer.
By the way....nice job on the mounts. thumbsup

That's a great price on shoulder mounts Jim and your mounts are great.

I generally won't pass on an animal. I hunt for the meat, not the antlers.
