Anyone been out? It seemed to be a pretty dismal rifle hunting season in my area for the most part. Folks didn't see near the number of deer as in past years.
I have been seeing a number of pretty nice deer over the past few days. Watched a fork, a basket rack 6 point and a fawn feeding in front of me all afternoon today. It was kind of fun to pull up on the 6 pointer a couple times just to practice up for when his daddy shows up.. laughing4 laughing4 laughing4

I have yet to see a deer while on dtand during muzzy season.  I don't hunt as hard as rifle season tho.  Get out a couple hours in the am and a couple hours in the pm.

Ill be up in PR next weekend

I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important but because so many other concerns of man are equally unimportant and not nearly as much fun.

Is it hunting season yet?

I'd bet their kinda spookie yet and nocturnal,Me when hunting always stuck in the stand till evening closing time,Thats when I would start seeing em.I even sometimes sat till 1 hr after closing with night vision. It showed that they were night time visiters! EVERY TIME!
another trick I did was carry orange sewing thread,I would string it between trees or bushes, then check it the next evening before gettin a stand. To see if anything passed while I was gone.

Yeah I hear ya sparce. Seems like I see more deer than ever on the drive home from the deer stand after dark than I do while on stand. I seen a nice one the other night along the edge of the road. well after dark.

BK, Would love to hook up and meet one of these days. Its just hard for me to get the time on the weekends as thats when I work... Hope you see some deer while your up here.

My buddy was out Friday night before the storm on public land just south of the metro. He hunted a corner of dense woods along a standing corn field. He saw nothing but signs it's been hunted heavily. No deer anywhere to be found.
