I shot a fawn last night saw 3 other ones but I think one of those 3 I saw twice.

Anyone else having any luck?

No he was my 3rd with bow. 10th deer overall.   I had to watch him for 30 minutes until he gave me a shot.  Kept walking in circles.  Hit him good enough that he only ran about 60 yards and saw him fall over.

Lol no, it was actual big for a fawn... I thought it was yearling when I shot but was proven wrong when I found it.  If the doe was with it im sure I would've realized it but never did see a doe with this one.  It was the biggest button buck I've ever seen.  The numbs where an inch long but unpolished.

Haha....the numbins I got a few years ago almost fit in my back pocket.  It sure was tender.  I was able to drag it myself.  Just had to give you some  bootyshake

Yeah its ok :) I don't mind a little teasing :)   I could carry it around like nothing by myself but definably wasn't my smallest deer.
ill probably become more picky on what I shoot for awhile.

Monday morning I had a doe and fawn come into 15 yards on my right.  She was mulling through acorns having a snack.  She was facing me the whole time so all i could do was sit and watch her do her deer thing.  It was a good day....got me all jazzed up ready for more...but this week with temps expected in the 80s I might wait for a cold front to come through before I head back out again

I have said that so many times!!Wait for cooler weather, pass on a deer or two only to not get any close up for the rest of the season crybaby2

I remember back when I used to bow hunt every other weekend. I spent an 80 degree windy weekend in the stand. Well after sweating thru everything I was wearing on Friday night and not seeing any signs of movement by Saturday night that was it.

With temps this high you have to gut them and drag them straight to cold storage.

I would have shot had she presented the chance....when I looked right...there she was in the wide open head towards me eating acorns...any movement she'd a had me

Got an 8 pt a couple hours ago.  My first deer with a muzzleloader at about 25 ish yards.  He was chasing a doe.  Tried to shoot him and found out I didn't have a primer in my gun, so I quick put one in and they circled around... guess they didn't hear me cussing lol

Tough weekend but not for lack of deer. Saw right around fifteen deer total with three nice bucks that we biffed on. We hit one and tracked for a mile but kept going and it was dark by then. Tried to follow again this morning but blood trail stopped. Kicked out another buck with a doe and two guys shot and the deer kept moving. I think they call it buck fever. Both were real nice eight's Caught a dozen eyes out of river with the biggest at twenty and could of had a limit of woodies and mallards if we would have brought the mutt but still fun to see ducks around. We had no doe permit which is very strange for our area near St James.   Tons of road hunters also but they didn't not fire a shot!!!!

I see your living up to your name there buckkiller!!!! Nice deer.
I'm not deer hunting until the Muzzy season but now that the weather has settled a little I did here a lot of shooting between 5 and 6 this evening. I counted over 20 shots with in ear shot of my house. That's a lot more than most years. I can't say how many of those shots actually brought down deer but I did hear quite a few that connected. Lots of folks in my area didn't see many deer Saturday or Sunday. I think the wind and rain didn't help. Now that its cleared up I expect to see more deer taken this week and next weekend.  icon_thumright
