I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important but because so many other concerns of man are equally unimportant and not nearly as much fun.

Is it hunting season yet?

Eat it.  We split it with my dads two brothers they have kids and such that eat it. By next year it will be gone or close to it.  So far we are up to 6 deer for 6 hunters.  I shot 3 of them but I probably eat the least meat... I don't really like it that much, ill eat jerky and pepper sticks but that's about it.  I just shoot em and give them to people that want them.  I still have muzzleloader season yet, but I garrentee none of it goes to waste.

I had that a few years back. Was on my way to a meeting in early December and the lady in front of me nailed a yearling doe. It broke it's neck and two ribs. My meeting was only an hour long so when I was leaving I called the police to see if I could have they deer. They met me there and tagged it. Very good deer. Would never take it if I didn't see it hit but it worked out well.

Am I seeing any deer? In my dream's, maybe!  :laughing6:The real reason I logged in today was the hope that someone else had shot one and posted the picture so I wouldn't forget what they look like! laughing6 Have not seen one single deer yet this season. My son-in-law shot a nice doe on opening weekend. And he had the nerve to shoot it from MY stand! The jerk! cussing :laughing6:DIRTBALL2 bs

The 4 things. I contribute to success are time in the woods and location, location, location.  If the deer aren't there you can't shoot them.

Here I think this is a bigger version of the same pic

I hunted three days this season which was Sat and Sunday of the first weekend and Saturday of this weekend. Saw a total of four deer. Two bucks that I kicked up while pushing and two doe. Group of five ended up with one buck that looks identical to bk's latest pic. We should of had the two big bucks that I kicked out while pushing willows but outside shooters were a little rusty. One had his rack caught int tree two feet away from me but between pushers so no shot could be taken. And duck season took me out of the stand yesterday!!!   Shot a couple bills today and a mallard. If I could put out a spinner I would. One other crew on the slough and they got one mallard. Hard to compete with millions of swans out in the middle . That many swans talking at once can get very annoying!!!!
