Buddy of mine was telling me about this technique at work the other day. I looked it up on youtube and found a few videos. Has anyone ever tried this? I saw quite a few videos on it and they all seem to work.

I've used this method several times on deer and pigs. Even a cow once. It works great IF you have the animal hung on a large limb in a larger tree. DO NOT use this method in a structure, like a garage....things may not turn out well.

That video would be great if it was shot during daylight. In low light like it shows you miss a lotof the little things. Also, skinning and animal using this method will leave a lot of the facia meat on the hide and if done too fast on the pull-off you can literally pull the quarters off the carcass. Slow is the word.

Wow I think I had best go buy a tractor and some golf balls.  I like the thought of little to know hair on the deer when done that way.

I was thinking that a noose like thing on the rope would work better then trying to tie the rope around the ball.  Just slip the noose over the ball and tighten. dontknow dontknow

I have found the propane torch trick to be most effective if the carcass is frozen prior to application of said torch...we usually skin and let them freeze up before applying torch
