Yeah it was a bad loss. I dont expect much from them this season so I am preparing for a few losses.

Last year was a total flop. This year will be a true rebuilding year. I doubt anyone as serious hopes of seeing the Vikes in the post season. I am a tried and true Vikes fan but lets be realistic from the start.

I am hoping for 8-8 this season.

I think Quetico has it about right. An 8-8 season is probably the best we can expect. Many question's which have not been answered yet. First and foremost, Quarterback. McNabb is very good! Better than I thought we were going to end up with. It could have been worse! How, you ask? Well they could have inserted Glenn57 as a stop gap measure! OMYGAWD! violent1 I liked what I saw of Christian Ponder last night. Sure he's rawer than raw but I think given enough time he will be a great quarterback! When he would improvise last night he reminded me a little of Tarkenton. The funnest part ofwatching Tarkenton was watching him run around everywhere like he was berserk! What the hey! It worked for him! The fun part came when you got to watch van Brocklin go ballistic! :blob1:The old Dutchman thought he should stay in the pocket and take his pounding like a man! :violent1:The new O-line will be a work in progress. Nobody is going to miss Bryan McKinnie one bit! Charles Johnson is an unknown quantity. Will he be good enough to protect McNabb's blindside. The D-line is going to miss Pat Williams more than they care to admit. He was so tough he wore his football shoe's with the cleat's on the inside! :headbang:Our biggest problem that need's to be addressed is at WR! Sidney Rice will be greatly missed. Bernard Berrian is an OK dude but he's not going to be the answer. Anyways, ladie's and germ's, I'm just so glad that we are gonna have a football season! Win or lose, it will be fun and exciting! Go Vike's! :wav:DIRTBALL2 bs

I'm trying to be optimistic. I'm thinking 9-7 10 -6 ? I think (hope) for a wining season. There is still enough talent on the team to make a good show of it. I totally agree with not having any expectations to see any post season play. I think McNabb will add to the outlook. The
O-line will hopefully give him some time this year. I think one of the things I'm looking forward to most is getting to know some of the newbies as they try showcase some of their talent. Either way wining or losing season, I got purple pride and Football always means that after the game you can grab the shotgun or bow or fishing rod and most of the time bring home dinner!!! headbang headbang

Right on Glenn. Moral last year was in to toilet and by the time they got rid of Chilly it was to late. There was no way last year that the Vikes were going to recoup from all the BS that Chilly put out there.

I think a lot of it had to do with #4 too.  And it didn't help that the dome collapsed, etc.

There is no such thing as a bad loss or good win in preseason. The idea isn't winning games it's seeing what you are putting on the field. I think we got to see some of the action.

I liked watching Ponder, he was brought in as the future so we'll see how he does.

I'm amped up for the season. Win or loose, I love to watch the Vikes. I think 8-8 is probably a decent bet give or take a game or two. I just don't see the line being any better than last year and Barian just plain sucks!!!

I agree with Glenn on this one. Chilly was a huge part of the problem. And he left to late in the season to make a difference. Chilly after the season was shot.

Barian in mediocre at best. We should have gone for Marion Barber. Is he still available?

A Bear fan, a Packer fan and a Viking fan are climbing a mountain. They are arguing about who loves their team the most. The Bear fan insists that he is the most loyal, "This is for Da Bears" he yells and jumps off the mountain. Not to be outdone, the Viking fan professes his love for his team yelling "This is for Minnesota!" and pushes the Packer fan off the mountain!
