I'll pay the 1/2 cent tax in Ramsey county for it. I doesn't come from other counties.

I'm for a Racino or State Owned Casino to pay for this stuff as well.

I'm sure this is all a moot point.....The wealthy will get their damn way and the rest will just have to suffer. Somehow someone will get payed off to vote for it and we will all suffer one way or another. Crooked politics at work again!

Its not about how any of the teams perform. Its about the bottom line. Currently the bottom line is buried in debt.

Yep just think of all the projects that could get done if they were to allow one or the other....  I agree 100% Shane.

A racino or state run casino would deal with both issues at hand here. it would pay for the states portion of the Vikes stadium and clear up the deficit.

So Dayton says the only viable spot is the Dome site.  What???  Clean up the Arden Hills eyesore.  Other teams are located in the suburbs and except for block E, what has the dome done for downtown Minneapolis.
Lots of parking, lots of tailgating, lots of room for expansion and new additions.

I'm with you on the Arden hills. Dayton did say it's down to just where the dome is. I think Dayton is a dome though.  BangHead

I've always been in favor of a state owned casino, even before the stadium issue came up.
Why not?  Compete for the gambling dollars and not let only one group monopolize the market.
Only one word of caution if the state does decide to get into the business.
For God's sake, don't let the state run or manage it, hire an outside consultant, preferably someone with Vegas experience.
The state can screw up a wet dream, so get some professionals to do the job.

shane, why do you feel that they came to late???? if all the ducks are in a row, there T's are crossed and I's dotted why can they not be a viable option?

not trying to start a war here but....................i have issue with it not being an option. its not like anythings really been advanced for any of the other sites selected.

I don't think you can come in the day of without ever having any mention of it. I don't believe all the ducks were in a row. They didn't have it worked out how to pay and everything else. I still thing Arden Hills is the best bet.

But just saying we have a place for it here,Is just as advanced as any of the other places,Of which none had a plan for $$ time frame Nothin! which is about the same as shakopee,They just said lets do it here abit later than the others. Its a great site as they said easy access, plenty a land,no clean ups. Realistically they have it over all the other sites.

Arden Hills would be great.

My main concern as always is that the tax payers in this recession cannot afford to foot the bill for it. If people want a new stadium come up with a new source of revenue to pay for it or have the team cover all of it.

And we all know the team will never cover 100% of the stadium.

So how about those state run casino's?
