the past couple weeks i've seen on my travels forth and back to work the highwat dept, i think, putting up at least 3 maybe 4 of these electronic boards along I-94 from monticello to st. cloud, especially going east. and they put a big one up westbound on a bridge. anyone got any idea why and what for?? anyone notice them going up other places???


they got extra money to spend cause they havent had to spend it on snow plowin??????????

Yep, that's a big one here in the cities. Terrorist threats, traffic delays and such. I actually think they are a decent investment. Get more bang for the buck than a standard sign.

In the cities they also tell you things like more enforcement on holiday weekends and such.

I'm picturing a drunk guy on the side of the road trying to get someone to pick him up, only to have a cop stop and him say "The sign told me to do it!"

As long as they actually get some use out of these signs, I've got no problems with them being on and displaying messages 24/7. At least it's not as stupid as keeping those highway entrance ramp lights blinking yellow 22 hours out of the day.
