Couple weeks ago a record snowfall here.  Then only a few days later, record heat temps.  They are reporting we have had record rain amounts for the month of May.  Within just a few days, had to use the furnace, then the air-conditioner, now back to the furnace for a few minutes this morning.
Record killer tornadoes down south, both in size and numbers plus flooding elsewhere.
I am not going to get into the debate or argument over global warming.
However something is going on.  Not only this year but the past couple as well.  Just remember the inconsistent weather patterns.
I am 66 years old and can remember many of seasons.  Yes we had record amounts reported then but those records are being broken.
Not just the records but the goofy sudden changes, later then norm or earlier in some instances.  Within only a couple days, drastic contradictions, etc..

It's for sure odd. I don't really buy into the whole Global Warming as much as I believe the earth changes. I do believe we hurt the environment and that is not helping us. But there's more to it as well. The last three to four years have been the strangest for sure. We haven't had a good spring in a while.

Yah Know the scientists who believe in global warming,I'd say theory but there's to much documented facts to say it's theory,They did mention we will see extreme weather swings. What we have to do is form our own opinions! By keeping our eyes open and our ears closed. We cant listen to some senator who's backed by big polluters! They'll say anything for a buck. What we need to do is read some studies avoid what we hear and again form  a opinion by just watching whats happening.

I'm thinking there are extremes on both ends for the global warming...what many get confused on, is that global warming does not effect the day to day temperatures, it does however effect things that contribute to those happening.  Yup, sounds like double talk, but the pattern is really complex.  Some of oldsters remember the leaves in the fall, the smoke stacks, heavy black smoke, etc.  much as helped, but there could be much more improvement, and I don't think most of us will see the real effect of a cleaner enviroment. BangHead BangHead
Real close to turning on the heat again, was hoping not to.

I am convinced what we do definitely has an influence on the environment.
Industrial pollution and vehicle emissions probably the two biggest offenders.
When I travel down 494 with bumper to bumper traffic, I can't help but imagine all the exhaust and heat emitted has got to be literally sucking and pushing what little clear air right up and out of there.
Think of it as a reverse tornado.  Instead of funneling down, it vacuums straight up and drawing the good air with it.  Before the pollutants get dispersed out into the atmosphere it is creating a circular back draft, not allowing the surface to replenish itself.  Kind of like a ceiling fan in reverse.
I know you can't blame 494 for all the ills, however that is just one of thousands of highway, byways and freeways contributing to it all.
I am surprised our metro area isn't constantly draped in a fog.

If I lived in the metro area I would pick the suburbs west of there.
Why?  Well in the northern hemisphere the jet stream is predominately from the SW, W or NW, so there is a better chance the wind will help blowing that crap out of your neighborhood. sunny

You have not really seen haze ULT until you have visited either Moscow or Paris! It is unbelievable! Plus both citie's stink! cussing I guess I shouldn't have been surprised since neither country has environmental law's like we do! I understand that most if China is the same way! It break's your heart to see it though. When I arrived back home from that trip, Mpls. looked pristine by comparison! :sunny:DIRTBALL2 bs

I was pleasantly surprises how clean NYC was.  The Hell's Kitchen area was kind of grotty but overall, not too bad.  Even the subway was better then I expected.
I love that town.  I also have a greater appreciation for Minnesota.
