Back when I was in my first band, around 1990, we had a wild hair to make a movie. It was a horror movie called "Sandman" and I was the Sandman that came back from the dead and killed everyone. So the name Sandman stuck, I added the ND to the end because I'm from North Dakota and the name Sandman is usually taken on most sites I used. So Sandmannd was born and just use it whenever I sign up somewhere.
When you started talking about being in a band I immediately thought "Enter Sandman", the song released by Metallica I believe it was in 1991. I though for sure that was where your response was going to end up but noooo, instead it's a homemade horror movie?
Anyway, my name "sixshooter" is just like it sounds, the infamous handgun also know as a snake charmer since it has came in handy a time or two when crossing patchs with a rattlesnake.
I've actually had a rattler strike the bottom of my hiking boot while walking through a prairie dog town. Before that, I was walkin' through some very tall weeds by some old homesteads and heard a rattle so I got the heck out of dodge only to come back and notice about a 4 foot rattler headin' down into a well. These two occasions happened to me at a young age between the age of 10 and 12 years old.
The rattles from the snake in the dog town came home with me as we had rifles with us since we were shootin' some dogs that day but the other time we were not armed.
I have had several other instances where I crossed paths with a rattlesnake and always seem to have that false sense of security with a sixshooter strapped to my side no matter if it's a .22 caliber or a Colt 45.
Of course the use of the gun is rarely necessary since a rattlesnake is usually good about giving fair warning prior to striking unless of course you are about ready to step on it while not paying attention to where you are walking which I am not sure how one does not walking through a prairie dog town but some how I managed to pull that one off.
Anyway, the name sixshooter seems to be a very appropriate name since I love the outdoors and hunting & a sixshooter definitely has a lot of history in my neck of the woods.
