The middle stretch of July is horrible for me. Two weeks solid of grad school classes.

Maybe a week from this Saturday or the following Saturday.

If we did June 27th, the girlfriend would come.

I don't own a boat but will happily drive up and tow someone else's boat if they want to carpool.

I'd be up for a day GTG to hit the chain. I got a boat and could use some car pooling to save money for sure. Would have room for at least two (I have three seats in the boat, can feet four people total in it but only three seats, your call). Are you thinking a day trip to keep costs down? I have four classes going on so I have to see how it's going but would love to go. They are really piling the work on for summer semester though.

I would need just a day trip to keep the costs down if we do it in June. I could swing an overnight deal in late July.

well coming from the cities exit off on hwy 23 west. you will go by rockville, thru cold spring. 5 miles down the road is richmond, look for state hwy 22 just past soutside truck stop/deanos cafe and channel marine, take a right turn down hwy 22 theres a boat landing on the sauk river bout 1/2 mile down on the right.

i'd also like to recommend if your hungry to stop at the truck stop/deanos. i know dean personnaly and he cooks up some GOOD vittles reasonably!!!!!!!! dont think he does catfish though! tongue3 laughing4 laughing4

I would probably do a day trip but if some want to stay over, that's great. These are always open invite and you can always make it last two days if you like. The best part of GTG's is getting to know other members. I know several of you by face to face meetings but that's just a handful of the members we have. I love these to get to know more members.

Sure Glenn everyone knows the meth hole++++++BUT closer to the dam can be some great summer cattin,Heck right there in the park in ColdSprings is some fine night fishin,One thing I found the cats relate more to the river than the lakes (Moving water).Except the first lake south and west of the dam its been really good to me the few times I have been cattin summertime there.Need a map to remember the name of that lake there are so many in the chain!!

Yeah let me remind everyone of a few things. I have caught 1 catfish in my entire life. It was through the ice. I know very little about where to find open water cats. I know even less about the chain.

I have heard tons about the insane numbers of cats in this chain. It sounds like a fun day trip so I figured why not make a gathering of it.

My boat is parked up at my camper.  I really need to look at getting a better trailer.  Gotta check with the better half on what is going on.  Should be able to make it.

The dam where the old granite plant was, is a good spot.

Minnows and nightcrawlers are good.
