Yes bobber and bout 6 inches off bottom,5ft.down to 3ft stagnent looking, still, warm water,NO traffic at all! There is a camp ground on the south shore of either Long or Browns lake?? I think I saw one Browns Lake resort and campground, and Your Haven resort RV park and campground. Both off 22 south of Horseshoe.Got the second from a Minnesota Atlas and Gazetteer.Never been or look at either.

how close do you need to be? i am not sure if these campgrounds have weekenders spots! cozy corners may have. but there are a lot of campgrounds/resorts down state hwy 22. otherwise if your seriuos about camping the campgroung we are at is about a 25-30 minute drive from there, i'd think i could get ya a spot if ya want. let me know. as i know them well, unfortunately i am heade to northern minn that weekend.

We'd want to stay close. We'd also want something quieter and more wooded.

So, did you guys ever go do this GTG? I have fished the Horseshoe chain every year for about the last 12 or more years and I love fishing for the kitties most of all! All except this year though because I was in the hospital having surgery. If you wanted to do this GTG later in the summer I might join in and actually might be of some use as I do know the chain somewhat. I can't go yet as I am still on crutches but I think they will let me start walking on my foot again in the next couple weeks. I am also in the process of selling my boat(2 surgeries and a lay off in the last 2 years, gotta sell some stuff) so if this sale goes through soon I will be boatless but I have many buddies who have boats who I might be able to convince to come up and fish some cats. Let me know what you guys are thinking.

I think it kinda fell by the wayside as nobody could come up with a firm date. Too much going on for everybody.

I'd be up for late August. Whenever people want to go up let me know, we could split the costs.

What weekends work for you Shane? I'm going to try to get up there sometime this year yet so my son can catch a catfish, he has been itching for some cats.

I'm not really sure Dave. Cash is tight and my honey do list is large. LOL. Was so busy with school this summer I didn't get a lot done around the house.
