I know it is a ways off yet but is there a possiblilty of a summer get together? Depending on when, I would be interested in a UMO summer bash.

Sure. I was thinking of one up on Mille Lacs and I'm always up for doing one on the Croix or Sippi. If anyone else wants to organize one anywhere else just start it up.

Sometime in Mid to late May I would like to have a little GTG with the Cattin guys and gals here. I know we don't have a huge following here at UMO but that just means we will have to get the word out. The suns out and its warming up today so I'm heading down to the river for a little preseason action and some scouting.

I'm not really a cat guy but I'd love to start doing more catfishing. I would definitely be up for a cat gtg.

I never caught a big cat Glenn but I did go sturgeon fishing a couple of years ago. If you hook into one, you will be addicted. I would love to tangle with one of those and need to get out sturgeon fishing again this year as well. Those big fish sure know how to fight and that's what it's all about. I would imagine a Musky would be the same, catch one and you are going to want to go out for more.

Once and a while, you get rough fish when you are out catting, those 10-15 lb walleyes in Pool 2 can break a cat fisherman's heart.

I probably agree...most of the cat people don't go for the food, it's the fight. But then, I can go for pannies, northerns, trout, bass, walleyes. Whatever the fishing has available, I try for it. There are too many purist, that will only fish for one type. Or will only fish one way.

I agree with you Tom. I love my walleye and panny fishing but it's nice to try something new now and then. Tying into a big cat, sturgeon or musky is something everyone should experience.

I certainly can't disagree with this But a 2-4 lb channel cat puts up a better fight and is even more tastey!

If I'm fishing for meat then it's walleye or pannies. Some days you just really want a good fight at the end of the rod. Then it's just for the sport of fishing.
