Hey Folks,

I'm teaming up with Thorne Bros to put a Get-Together together up on Mille Lacs. We are thinking sometime in September. Right now we are thinking about staying at Appledoorn's. Great place, reasonable price and great fishing. We were thinking of doing a launch for part of a day and then fishing out of our boats the rest of the time. If you have a boat, bring it up. If not, that doesn't mean you can't come, some will have open seats I'm sure.

Let me know thoughts and ideas please.

Should we look at doing it around the september full moon?

Do a launch trip during the day looking for some jumbo perch and eyes?

I think that sounds like a good plan. As long as it's after Labor Day, we should be OK getting folks up there.

ditto, september 11th is the start of deer believe after that I lose interest in fishing...maybe the first weekend...or is that labor day?  Might still be interested but for sure not the first weekend of deer hunting.

Man, I would love to fish that lake. It is on my "bucket list" for sure! Probably won't be able to make it this year, but maybe next year one of you guys could point me to some of those great looking fish!

OK Folks, how much interest is there in this. I can't do the 11th. I have the Fish-A-Thon on the 10th & 11th and the 12th is my anniversary.

The 25th is the Portable Mod Get Together so that's out for me as well. That's also the River Rat's Tourney on the River so I have to figure out if I can do both or just one.  BangHead

Not to say I won't plan the event even if it's a day I can't make it.

Couple of questions, where would you want to stay? Wilderness Warmth is a sponsor on UMO and I know they rent ice houses pretty cheap for a weekend. Do we want to all stay at one place or just each person find their own lodging? If we want to stay at one place I need to get a head count and get suggestions on where to stay so I can call and see if we can get some rates.

Are we interested in doing a little contest with it? If so, what type of contest? I would be willing to throw in a UMO Walleye Hat in the prize vault.

Do we want to do a potluck BBQ type thing?

Let's see what we all come up with on this. Another option would be the first week in October.

I'd be up for the first week in october.
As far as making plans I'm pretty flexible, I could possibly spend the weekend or just drive up for a day.
I like the BBQ idea...go out fishing and meet up for a party :-)
Location makes no difference to me.

Ya, maybe we can have some better weather, than the last one. A lot of people didn't make it due to the weather that day. Raining, sleeting, freezing rain. You know the weather that makes Glenn happy. I can still bring alot of the fixings for lunch. I still owe for last year yet.
