Iam from Cold Spring MN but I as born in South Mpls.
I was thinking about making a trip up there this winter to chase some cat's on the chain.

Oh Lord,
There he is.
Feels like a big one.
Please don't let me lose him.
I've never caught one this big before.
I'll try not to horse him.
And if I land him I promise to release him
And make a graphite replica...
If my wife says it okay.
Thank you for the Rapalas.
Amen.

Lake Zumbro down here by Rochester can get an ugly cat bite during the winter mos. Fish up to 12 pounds last year were taken.

I'm from the metro Fargo... where the moose run wild and the steaks are free (well, kinda.. gotta pay $1 a ticket to get in the drawing).  But do almost all of my fishing on the MN side except for an occasional trip to Devils Lake or Jamestown resevoir. Been in Fargo for 18 years.  Waiting for hard water, but with the weather going to be in the 50's for at least another week, doesn't look like it's gonna happen fast enough.  crybaby2 crybaby2   May have to take the boat out again this weekend.

I've lived in 3 cities my whole life...   Apple Valley (with my family), Faribault (While I was attending Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf), and now Bloomington...  Im hoping to be able to move up north... possibly around the Bemidji area...  prime muskie area with many more within 2hrs driving distance... and plenty trees to hunt deers out of...

Hi, am from Ireland and moved to Minneapolis in December. Am living a couple of blocks from lake harriet. Really enjoyed my 1st ice fishing season. Now I just got to get out and do some open water fishing from the shore. All my fishing in Ireland was saltwater so have lots to learn.

Welcome to UMO Nige!! There is some good fishing around the metro from shore for you. Keep a watch on this site as many folks will post when they have open seats in the boat.

I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important but because so many other concerns of man are equally unimportant and not nearly as much fun.

Is it hunting season yet?

I've lived in Belle Plaine for 30 years of my almost 40 years of living. I like to fish Waconia, Spring, Cedar lakes among others and the Mighty Minnesota but I am still a rookie when it comes to river fishin'.

Welcome to UMO Zpak...When I went for minnows today, the guy at the bait store said he hasn't been hearing too many good reports lately.  There were 10 tip-ups at Lake Jane today and we only had 3 flags in about 3 hrs.  Although at noon, they said they had plenty of action.
