Just thought I'd plug my new blog here, hopefully that's alright.

Decided to start a blog for fisherman, specifically those of us who regularly fish Lake Minnetonka. The reasoning for this was that in my free time, I'm constantly looking around on the web for anything fishing related. Reports, tips, tricks, new gear, forums, everything. But certain things have always bothered me, for example, product reviews. Yeah, I'm glad Clam (Or whoever, just an example) made a video showing off the new hot item they've got this year, but it'd be nice to get reviews for those products from people who aren't being paid to tell you that this particular product will MAKE you catch fish. I've purchased plenty of gear only to have it break down a couple years later, and it would've been really nice for that sponsor to have given me a heads up that the product is built like crap :P. As I stated on the first post, the first review I'm going to try to do is of the Slush Inhaler, because it seems like an amazing product (IF it works!) but there are no good videos showing the thing in action.

Aside from that, I'll be posting fishing reports that will be as up to date as possible. I plan on doing posts daily, and as I'll practically be living out of the fish house this winter, and with the addition of wifi, I'll be making posts while I'm fishing. Possibly even a live stream from time to time.

So if you're like me, do both of us a favor and bookmark and/or follow the site, and I'll try my best to make it worth your while.

Awesome, thanks Shane!

Since it went up I updated the banner at the top and included a few new links. Nothing major. Hoping to have some more content coming soon as I get out on the ice.

Also willing to take requests! Got a favorite bay but can't seem to find the fish on it? Let me know and I'll be out there within a week to give you a report. Got a product you've been looking at but are still on the edge about? Drop me a line and I'll do my best to get a hold of whatever you're looking at and give you a good review. I've got a good deal of friends with their own ice fishing gear, so I don't think it'll be too hard for me to test out a very wide variety of products.

I also setup a sort of Instant Messaging service between myself and my buddies that all fish Minnetonka, so I'll have people all over the lake giving reports real time that I'll then forward to the blog. If you're interested in becoming part of this and fish Minnetonka reguarly, again, let me know!

e: New post! Some pictures of the ice as well as my first product review.

Looks great, Bobb-o. Followed.

The more resources there are the better it is for everyone, so I'll be checking back to your blog regularly. Gotta say, I'm pretty jealous you've already gotten on the ice this year.

Added a new feature just recently. A live chat. I don't expect it to have too many intense discussions going on or anything, but if you've got a question that you want answered real-time, that's your place!

Out on Minnetonka and can't seem to get on fish? Let me know in the chat and I'll do my best to help you out, or at least point you in the right direction. What I really like about this, is that I could even be out fishing and still capable of answering your questions. Or, who knows, maybe I'll have something I need answered!

Really looking forward to this season, and I can tell others are as well. So let's get out there and catch us some fish!

Even if you've been fishing for three hours and haven't gotten anything except poison ivy and sunburn, you're still better off than the worm.

Hey Chris,

Thanks for the update! I'll be sure to include it in my next fishing report.

I do make my way out West a bit, but I usually don't do so until a little later into the year, so this is a nice tip for me. My buddy and I were out all day today (Scouting out small local lakes aside from Tonka, actually. Wolsfeld, Thiess, and Classen I believe were the names of them) and had some decent luck, but nothing worth mentioning.

I'll be out the majority of the day tomorrow (Hurray for a week off work!) so if anyone else is out, or wants to get out, let me know! Purchased a new 1-person fish trap this year, but I've got a 2-person that has an open seat pretty often.

went out today on seaton lake... we saw a lot of houses but stayed away from the pack. we found the spot where they were fishing yesterday and kicked out the holes. the bite was much slower than yesterday they were saying, but i managed to get my limit just fine in about 2 hours of fishing. hope this helps.
