Not sure if any of you have heard the stories of an "8 foot sturgeon" in lake Minnetonka, but apparently the fish tale holds some merit.

My bow fishing buddy spotted this while looking down off the Grays Bay dam.

Said it probably wasn't 8 feet, but it was easily the biggest fish he's ever seen in a freshwater lake.

Heard stories when I was a little kid from my grandfather who lived on Tonka for over 50 years that friends of his that were into Scuba diving saw fish they claimed were as big as people.  My dad now has lived on the lake for over 25 years and he told me he heard those stories first hand.  When I was a kid I was afraid to swim in the lake for quite a few years because of those stories.  They said these fish were as big as people.  I finally dismissed it.  I had never heard of claim that there might be sturgeon being in lake minnetonka, but it would explain the stories I heard about when I was a little kid over 35 years ago.  Thanks for the picture.  Cannot wait to show my dad.

I'm sure there's giants in all big lakes. Lots of room to roam.
