Well, barring any unforeseen distractions, plan on taking daughter and four year old grandson fishing on Lake Waconia on Thursday.  They live in Wacoina.
Will rent a boat/motor at Inn Towne Marina, they have fair prices and excellent service.
From what I've heard, the pencil reeds up in the northwest corner should produce some sunnie/crappie action.
Just something to keep Henry and mom entertained.  Not expecting monsters.
Will post results when I get home.

Good luck to you out there. Looking forward to a report and some pictures of the youngsters catching fish.

First off I disagree with what you've heard about in Towne but the location is correct.  That's where I would start, crappies are probably gonna be a little deeper the the reeds but the sunfish should be there.  If not try out a little farther.

Good luck fishing  icon_thumleft

I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important but because so many other concerns of man are equally unimportant and not nearly as much fun.

Is it hunting season yet?

As BK stated, the sunfish should be up shallow on beds. They weren't their a couple days ago besides little females. If you want some other action like northerns drop some crankbaits on the weedlines and that should put some fish in the boat.
