I know it has been a while since I have posted a report on the web. Let me give you just a small portion of what has been going on in our life over the past month and why I have been MIA lately. The past 3 weeks have been pure hell on my ankle, and I still have 4 more weeks to go to get to the 26th of Aug for the surgery I have set up for the third and final fusion. After that who knows what they can do if it does not fuse again. I say; cut it off and give me a prosthetic foot. That is how bad the pain has been the past 2 months. I am going into Plymouth this morning to see another foot specialist, to see if I can get the surgery sooner than the 26th of Aug by some one else. I have been waiting for 4 months to have this guy from Twin Cities Orthopedic do my final surgery on my ankle.  I have received some really devastating news on Monday.

Evidently, I had called and left too many phone messages with my Dr Nurse about that it was an emergency. The foot started to get really bad over the next 4 days. I ended up in the emergency room at Fairview Princeton Hospital two weeks ago on a Friday morning, the pain was so bad. That is a whole different story for anther day. Let’s just say, I passed out in the admission area from so much pain and no sleep for 3 days. After we got home from the emergency room I called her and told her what had just happened but it was now 3:55pm on a Friday so I get that I begged this person to please just have the doctor call me that this truly was an emergency. Man, I only needed her to call the Dr. and have him call me so I could explain what had happened. I mean really, is that too much to ask for from the nurse of your doctor? I don’t really don’t think so.

Well after countless phone messages with no returned calls for 4 days, I became somewhat frustrated with this nurse from this doctors office and I told her how I felt. That I thought that she was not doing her job, which was to take care of me as his patient. I said that she was acting in a very unprofessional manner by refusing to return my phone calls for over 4 days with it being an emergency. Well I must have pissed her off really bad because the next night at 8:30pm at night I get a call from the head of Twin City Orthopedics who I had also left a message with 4 days earlier when this all started. I was not at all expecting what I heard next. He had called me to tell me that, I know longer have Dr Coetzee to do my surgery on the 26th of Aug. This is the surgeon that I had waited over 7 months for to get into surgery.

He also informed me that I could not have any Twin Cities Orthopedic doctors do any surgery on me. I had set up another appointment with a different foot specialist who was part of Twin City Orthopedics, but he worked out of a different office. I was able to get in to see him this last Monday. Wow, what has this world come to man? So after I begged and pleaded for him to please reconsider, his response was that the decision has already been made and he hung up the phone. Then after about 30 seconds it hit me. I had just wasted 7 months of my life in tremendous pain waiting for this surgeon, Dr. Coetzee to do my surgery. Now it has turned into a nightmare. How can one man have so much power? He was able to turn my whole life upside down and completely take away any hope that I had left. He told me it was all because I had left to many phone messages over the past 4 days, which for one thing to not call anyone back after an emergency phone call is so wrong at so many different levels in my book. Neither one of them ever returned my calls or I should say my cries for help.

This woman never returned my emergency phone calls or any call for that matter. I even called the woman back that said she was very frightened by the tone in my voice that day and asked her to forgive me and that I was super stressed out and in a lot of pain that day, which was no excuse to get angry. I was just so sorry that it had happened. It was an hour and 45 minute wait in the room, before the doctor even came into the room. I was sorry that I lost my temper and that I hoped that the rest of the staff would forgive me also under the circumstances and let the Dr do the surgery. They all said NO

I am in a lot of pain once again and I am suffering with major sleep deprivation. That was just one of the factors, that day, of why I lost my temper when this woman lost all of my records and never did call me back. They could not find any of my 3 cat scans and a lot of operative and post operative notes which were not able to be viewed that day by Dr McGarvey. So, evidently they did not accept my apology and they evidently have not been able to forgive me for losing my temper. So, the Doctors from Twin Cities Orthopedic will no longer do the surgery on me on the 26th of Aug and I don’t have any idea which way to turn now!

How freaking bazaar is that? So, as of now I have wasted 7 more months of my life, waiting for a person who is supposed to be the best foot surgeon in the state or possibly the country to do the surgery. Now some person in the head office has literally cut me off at my feet. Not only can I not have the best surgeon they have on staff do the surgery on me, there will not be any surgeons from their group that will or can touch me with a 10 ft pole.

I will keep you updated on the surgery if and when I can get in to get this dam foot fixed. It has been a very long and painful 2 years.

That is all for now. I will update the report as soon as I get some kind of direction on where we go next.

All that I can do now is give my life to the Lord Jesus Christ to do with what he will. It is in Gods hands now.

Wish me tons of luck today and pray like crazy for me, that all will go well today and I will meet up with the right doctor and we can get this major bump in my road of life, taken care of soon.

MyGawd Rockman, what a horror story! It sound's like you were dealing with someone from on the staff at Doctor's-R-Us! The manner in which you were treated was totally unproffessional and should not be tolerated by you. I promise you that I am going to do my dammedst to find some way to see that these SOB's get there comeuppance! They should not have gotten me mad! I promise you John, they are going to pay! There is a medical organization of their peer's that review's instance's of abuse like this and can issue sanction's on the abuser's. Doctor's do not like their name's to be brought to the attention of this group. Offhand I can't remember the name of this organization but I will do some snooping and researching and I will let you know as soon as I find anything out. In the meantime John, I hope life start's treating you better and a heck of a lot more often! :sunny:DIRTBALL2

It has truly been hell on earth  . I just can't believe that there is not anywhere higher up to go with this through twin city orthopedics. This Troy Simmonson    can't be the top dog over there. I am just taking some time away from all of the hell  and emotional bashing to gather myself together for round 7. Only 5 more rounds to go and we will see who comes out on top of this one dam it
