CO Joe Stattelman (Detroit Lakes) checked anglers and fish houses. Some fish houses were contacted due to litter and garbage on the ice issues. Ice conditions are improving but caution continues to be urged. A spear fisherman was issued a citation for fishing without a license.  Upon checking, there was an active warrant for his arrest. The angler had $1,300 in unpaid fines from DNR violation convictions going back three years.
