I want to welcome Sportsmen's Direct to our UMO Family. I'm sure many of you are familiar with Ice Hopper and his posts. Ice Hopper run Sportsmen's Direct. I'm very happy to have them on board and giving us the opportunity to help them promote their business.

Something about Sportsmen's Direct:

Targeting the inventor's vision and the American manufacturer's skill
Targeting the passion of the outdoorsman and the power of "word of mouth" sales
Targeting innovation in, and distribution with, network marketing
Targeting sportsmen, the real product experts, to share the excitement of ingenuity
Keeping God's will in the 10 ring
Sportsmen’s Direct: Targeting Outdoor Innovation

A couple of great products that I've seen on the site are:

Sonic Ice Hopper System

Made in the USA, this system includes the Hopp'n Bucket Rig (HBR), two Rod Holders, Lens Cover (for Marcum or Vexilar) and your choice of the Sonic Ice Hopper SP or XL (Humminbird: XL only). Add your flasher and you're ready to hit the ice. Humminbird lens covers are not available. All Sonic Ice Hoppers come fully assembled. Flasher not included. HBR comes with the Hopper Topper 1, but you can upgrade to Hopper Topper 2 (with blue foam insert) or downgrade to Hopper Topper 3 (standard 4-tab lid, no foam or cut-out).

Shack Jacker shanty wheel kit

Are you tired of dragging your expensive portable fishing shanty across cement or asphalt parking lots to get to the ice? Do you have spots that you just can't get to because you'll destroy the bottom before you get there, even if you're strong enough to drag it? Even expensive replacement runners create excessive drag after they're scratched up. Most of us run into one or more of these situations every season, not to mention moving around big 2 or 3 man portables during the off-season.

Shack Jacker solves these problems and many more. This simple, made in the USA wheel kit, mounts quickly and easily to any portable shanty by simply drilling four (4) 1/4" holes and tightening down the bolts. Shack Jacker is constructed of rugged, light-weight, aluminum. The wheels pivot and lock into the deployed and retracted positions by inserting a pin in the appropriate hole. The wheel struts can be completely removed from the brackets by removing 2 pins from each strut.

With the two wheel struts lowered into the deployed position, one end of the portable shanty is elevated safely off the pavement. The shanty can now be picked up from the other end and effortlessly wheeled to the ice with all of the ice fisherman's gear safely stowed inside.

When properly installed, Shack Jacker's double-strut, dual-wheel design, spreads the load out and allows the kit to safely carry loads up to 150 lbs. Shown here on a Fish Trap Guide two-man shanty, carrying my 8 yr old son.

Shack Jacker can also be fitted to any tub-style utility sled. This is another product brought to you by the makers of the Sonic Ice Hopper. Click here for the Shack Jacker blog post.

I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important but because so many other concerns of man are equally unimportant and not nearly as much fun.

Is it hunting season yet?

Welcome to UMO.  This company has some great products and continue to add more all the time.  That Ice Hopper looks to be one sweet unit.  Also check out their line of plastics as well.

People say they fish to relax.  I relax just a little bit more everytime I drive that hook home.
