We are going to do something special for all those that fish either Fishapalooza or The 2011 Bass Lake Ice Fishing Contest.

It doesn't matter if you are a current member or new member. To qualify all you have to do is reply to this topic with your ticket number from the event you fished! If you are new to UMO, just register as a new member and then reply here with your ticket number.

Winners WILL BE drawn from the list that is posted in this topic.

We have received some great prizes from some of our sponsors. The prizes are listed here below in no particular order other than the Ice Fishing Rod is first prize. There will be several prizes given out for this event depending on registration. So REGISTER for UMO and get some great product, gift cards or apparel!!

1st Place: Ice Hopper SCL25 rod from Sportsmen's Direct.

Hand-crafted here in the USA, this Light action 25" Spincast rod is designed to be used with our removable, adjustable strike indicator/spring bobber. This rod sports aluminum oxide guides and a titanium nitride coated tip. The solid carbon blank extends through the handle. There is a synthetic cork butt cap and graphite slip rings are included for easy reel mounting. Our tips and spring bobbers were designed specifically to work as a system. Our spring bobbers WILL NOT function properly with any other factory tip. This rod comes with the Medium weight spring bobber. Light and Heavy weight spring bobbers available separately. The removable spring bobber gives the ice angler the ability to fish with a high quality solid carbon blank-thru-handle rod and get all of the feel and action without the spring bobber. When a spring bobber is needed for light-bite detection or a change of action, it can be added in seconds. This is a truly versatile fishing tool. We stand behind it with a one year quality warranty.

Other prizes include, but are not limited to:

JBLures Panfish #8 Clam Pack

Eight size #8 lures in a re-usable clam package. Spider, Ant, Glitter-Glow, Lunar Grub, Charmer, Hot-Head, Micro Weasel, and Gem-N-Eye.. All GLOW in the dark.

Thorne Bros gift cards.

These cards give you $10 off any purchase of $50 or more. We have a stack of these to give to those that register here. Thorne Bros is one of the premier shops in the metro area if not the state of MN. From a large selection of musky gear to custom rods that are some of the best for today's fishing. They have everything in between.

Cubez Plastics
Great for panfish up to predator fish. They've been the ticket to some of my best ice fishing ever!

Lost River Breading Mix
This breading is made in three distinct flavors.
Classic Beer Batter - CRISPY~CRUNCHY Golden GOOD!
Spicy Red Pepper & Garlic - Spicy but not overpowering is a good way to describe this flavor.
Garden Herb & Cornmeal - 100% Whole Grain Cornmeal. Also is GLUTEN FREE!

Venom Floats.
Adjustable Float System KIT:

The AFSK is a new product package for 2010.  It includes all components needed to achieve the maximum potential of the AB model float.  It offers a seamless adjustment range of zero weight – 1/4 oz.  The float can achieve neutral buoyancy with no sinkers on the line within the adjustment window noted.  With this KIT package, an angler can quite literally replace a tackle box full of fixed buoyancy floats.  Please see our video for a full demonstration of this model.  Components included: Lower Plastic Body, Standard Length Foam Insert, Long Foam Insert, Small Pin-On Weight and Large Pin-On Weight.

And the NITE-BITE™ Glow-In-The-Dark AFS:
The NITE-BITE™ AFS is new for 2010.  It offers the same components as the standard AFS plus a foam top cap.  The lower plastic body and foam top cap are molded with a luminous dye.  The dye offers a vibrant and long lasting reusable light source.  Brightness and lighting time varies with the type of light source used to charge components and also environment temperatures.  High intensity LED lights are recommended for best results (demonstrations performed with 85 lumen max output lighting source).  The white NITE-BITE™ foam inserts offer optimum light reflection for enhanced full or near full float illumination.  For 2010, the glow color offered is luminous GREEN.  All luminous components are reusable and free of chemicals.  These floats can be reactivated without removing from hole when ice fishing.  Components included: Luminous Lower Plastic Body, Luminous Foam Top Cap, Standard Length White Foam Insert and Long White Foam Insert.

I hit up Fishapalooza 2011 and by some act of god ended up in 104th place with a perch that weighed .375 lbs to win a Skeeter Walleye Boat!!!  It tied with a kid who caught the same weight fish an hour earlier so he ended up in 103rd.  I met Shane at the VFW while i was waiting for the official results, Talk about the most suspenseful 3 hours of my life haha! Ticket # 4336

I was new too Fishapalooza!  What a blast we had. My boyfriend and I went by ourselves and even though it was cold we had so much fun!
Everyone around us were awesome and fun to just chat with!  Kept and eye on each others things and none of us had to worry about things walking off!
So many people and fun things at the tent too!  Didn't win anything but caught lots of fish and just had a great day with plenty of exercise to boot!
Well organized as well!
Thanks for a great day!!!!
Our ticket numbers were  #1410  and #1411.

May the Fish be with you!!   sunny

Welcome to UMO snowyriver1971, glad to have you with us.

Fishapalooza is surrounded with great people. From those that put it on to those that fish it. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it and hope you come back next year. Too bad you didn't place, but it's always still fun.

You do stand a pretty good chance of winning something here with your registration as we haven't had a lot sign up.

I've fished this contest even when it was held by the Jaycees and never won. I missed a lot of strikes and as a matter of fact missed one this year but within an hour later tied into a 4.505 northern and was able to register it. I want to say thanks to all that help drill holes the night before. It took us a little longer than what we all excepted but we got it done. Thanks to all see you next year. ticket # was 3247

Hello All,

Made the trip from Milwaukee, WI to fish Fishapalooza and it was a blast!  It will be an annual trip from now on!  I got lucky and caught a .4 lb Crappie and took 90th place.  Got a ice fishing trip to Lake of the woods!  As everyone has stated, everyone was very nice and friendly, even to Packer fans! lol   My ticket number was 2269.

Welcome aboard fishrmann. Sounds like you had fun and I'm glad you plan on making it an annual trip. The money goes to our Vets and I can't think of a better cause. Look me up next year, I should be near the weigh in tent.

Hello Fishrmann,
Welcome aboard.  Which military branch you in? I retired after 28yrs in the army guard. Just got back from Shades of Green Resort. If you don't know, it's a resort just military personnel on Disney's magic kingdom property, very nice.

Sorry no fishing just doing lots of riders with grandkids, burning in the sun and watching the bikinis at the beach. Oh got my photo with Cinderella.  wav Come on summer.

I am in the guard as well..  until this contract is up, then I will be going active.  Life seems boring at home after deployments...  I've heard of resorts like that.  Maybe one day I'll have a wife and kid & go there.. or hopefully the kid will be like me and just wanna go on fishing trips..  :)
