Thats what they tell me.   I was the first casting guide for Muskie on Lake St Clair.  I landed my first Muskie in 1931 on a Cane Pole.  Fell in love with the fish.  Oh: Wow is Me.  LOL

Hey there BuckKiller.  My daughter and her family- son-in-law and two grandsons live in Waconia.  I am up there once a month to visit.
I have panfished open water a few times and ice fished a couple times on Lake Waconia.
I rent my boat and ice shack out of Inn Towne Marina, nice folks there.
I target panfish, can catch bluegills, but not a crappie yet.  I know they are in there and seen some big ones in pictures at Inn Towne.
Wish I knew some good shore fishing spots on that lake for this time of the year.
Late May and June, fish the reeds up by the Church Steeple and out in front of that dinner place just east of Inn Towne.

Ron....I got this message from Buckkiller.

You can sometimes get them off the fishing pier when they are spawning.  I say sometimes because the fish always seem to change their spawning locations.  In townes docks always seem to be a safe bet in april/early may.  There isn't many off shore fishing opportunities out there, its mostly private land.

How many people usually go with you?  I might be willing to take you out in my Dads boat, 3-4 weeks I can garantee you catch 100 crappies with sunnies mixed in.  Its a 16 footer will fish 3 adults and 1 kid fairly comforable (at most).  I have had 5 people in it and it does work.  Let me know if I can help, I will most likely be out next weekend for the first time, probably won't get much yet but once that water hits 45-50 degrees they will turn on.

Even if its mid summer and waconia isn't going I can probably find you crappies on other area lakes.

Tom, that is a very nice invitation, thank you and who knows some day might take you up on it.
My daughter and I have a Fathers Day tradition and go fishing Waconia for sunnies, then hopefully have a nice fish fry.
Other then that, when we come up, the women go shopping (whatelse)  angry1 and I go poking around, always looking for some place to wet a line.  Son in law doesn't care to go fishing.  Damn thought I raised her better then that.
Have fished off the pier at Steiger Lake outside Victoria as well as the public pier at Waconia.  Will rent a boat a couple times at Inn Towne.  Have Walleye gear and have fished them, but my real love are the panfish.

Just to set this straight...I pm'd Buckkiller about your post..he thought I was looking for info to Waconia.  He replied to me, so I pasted it for you to see.  Just trying to get you some info from him, because I figured he missed your previous post.
I hope you two can get together sometime over there.  Though I know he works nights.  Good luck.

OK Tom.  Thank you Buckkiller.  I am retired and we usually come up during the week days, so maybe we can connect sometime.  Of course, I would pay for breakfest, gas and the bait.

My first post.  I am in Minnesota and have been fishing lakes in NW Wisconsin and mostly the Twin Cities all my life (42 years).  Just got my own boat and am looking forward to getting out and sharing the sport with my kids.  Thank you all for being here and sharing my fishing interests.
